Each gift is a donation representing a real item or service needed by the children, young people and families we support.
So, when you buy a gift it will help provide vital physical, emotional, and educational support to a vulnerable child. Your friend or loved one, who will receive the card will be delighted at the difference the gift can make in helping a child recover, heal and go on to reach their full potential.
Like other donations made to Barnardos, Champion Gifts are fully tax deductible.

All funds raised through Champion Gifts help to provide comprehensive, tailored support to vulnerable Aussie kids who have had a terrible start to life.
Barnardos supports families to keep children and young people safe, giving them the tools to cope with life’s challenges and improve their well-being.

How is Champion Gifts different to Gifts for Kids?
Each Champion gift represents a donation to Barnardos to help vulnerable children and young people reach their brightest future.
Rather than buying a specific item for a child, you buy a gift on behalf of a friend or loved one, who gets to enjoy the pleasure of making a difference. This gift represents a donation to the value of a crucial item or service that children, young people, or families in our care need every day. Champion gifts are available all year round, so you can buy a gift and help make a difference at any time.
Gifts for Kids is a special annual Christmas program, where kind donors buy a specific present or voucher to help deliver at least one Christmas gift to the thousands of children and young people who are recipients of our services and care.
Are the gifts I purchase tax deductible?
Yes! – all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Are the gifts I purchase real?
Each gift listed in the Champion gifts catalogue is a real item or service needed daily by the children, young people and families supported by Barnardos. Your gift represents a donation to the value of that item or service to help vulnerable children on behalf of a friend or loved one. Barnardos will use the funds raised through Champion gifts wherever needed most, to provide the physical, emotional, and educational support children need to recover from trauma and reach their brightest future.
What is an e-card?
You can send a digital card via email to your friend or loved one so they can see the difference they have made as the recipient of a Champion Gift. When you choose to send an e-card you can write a personalised message to the recipient during the checkout process. You can also pick the perfect date for your e-card to be sent.
What will I receive when I order a physical card?
When you purchase a Champion Gift as a physical card, you will receive the card representing the gift you chose. All cards represent one of the programs where your gift is helping. All physical cards come with a bonus fridge magnet of our mascot Bizzi which you can keep or share with your friend or loved one.
The physical cards are A6 (10.5cm x 14.8cm) and are blank inside, offering plenty of space for a personalised handwritten message. They are delivered to you in their own stylish green envelope.
How long until my physical card arrives?
Orders within Australia.
Orders are fulfilled within 3-5 working days. Please allow extra time for shipping; typically, two weeks is a safe estimate.
To ensure Christmas delivery, physical card orders close on December 6th, 2024.
Can I have my physical card sent directly to someone else?
We recommend sending the physical cards to yourself. They are blank inside so that you are able to personalise them with a handwritten note.
You could send the physical directly to someone else but then no message would be delivered with them. If you would like to send a card directly to someone else maybe consider the e-card option.
We also are unable to ship internationally.
